Partly Facetious: stay young to command future
"The future, President Musharraf said, lies in the youth."
"Well, it does you know."
"Right and he was specifically referring to the political landscape."
"Which ever landscape you look at the future lies with the youth."
"Indeed but then how come everyone we have at senior posts does not belong to the youth category."
"Ah, but remember what Musharraf said? The future lies in the youth. Not the present but the future."
"I get it, so what did he actually mean when he told Wattoo that the future lay in our youth with particular reference to BB and Nawaz Sharif?"
"Probably he was suggesting that both these leaders should pave the way for the younger generation of politicians."
"Like the Chaudhrys and the Chosen One?"
"OK, so they are older than BB and Nawaz Sharif but who said logic was the domain of politics."
"Would this suggestion also apply to presidents?"
"In theory yes, but don't forget the key word future."
"But then how..."
"The constitution and the judiciary allows extensions and dual holding of charge and wearing of two hats, you know the drill..."
"Yes I do know the drill but don't forget the old saying: life begins after 60."
"It certainly has for some..."
"By the way where did this meeting between the President and Wattoo take place?"
"In camp Rawalpindi..."
"Very inconvenient for two hatted presidents! I mean all this travelling to and from Islamabad is not good for men who have reached post-retirement age."
"Don't worry about that. The GHQ is now going to be built on prime land in Islamabad."
"Ah, much better for all our two hatted presidents."
"Of the future?"
"Of course of the future. Entire GHQ is not going to be built in the lifetime of the incumbent." "Then where do the youth come in?"
"The youth now may become the old two hatted presidents of the future."
"I get it."
